I started selling some of my creations before Christmas. This is one of the quotes that a friend asked me to frame. I loved it! I thought it was a great quote and that it was very meaningful. I had been battling tendinitis for months and it was still constantly worsening. I had told a friend what an awful time I was having and she called my visiting teachers without me knowing. My visiting teachers always came each month, but we didn't really have a close relationship. They showed up on my doorstep to help. I was so surprised. I was too embarrassed for how behind things were. They decided to go put in some laundry even though I tried to convince them everything was behind but okay. I guess in the long run, things were technically okay, but the laundry was definitely something that was struggling to say the least. I couldn't work on it and Christen and Haley were helping on it as much as they were able. After going downstairs and seeing the situation, they started sorting and carrying load upon load out to their vans. I felt so bad that they would try to undertake such a task. There was probably 20 loads of laundry, sheets, bedding, seasonal clothes, clothes that were outgrown but needed laundered before passing it on, etc. It was out of control. But with smiles they kept plugging along, telling me to sit and just pretend they weren't there. They left and I was shocked. I felt so taken care of and so loved. It was amazing! Then, when they pulled back up to my house about 4 hours later, my mouth hit the floor and my heart ached to know they went to a laundromat and spent money to help my family. It was such a tremendous act of service, sacrifice and love. They both have families of their own. One sister has a little baby that she had left to come take care of me. It was physically impossible for me to do what they had done. I sat there reflecting upon the quote my friend had given me. I was really struggling at that time...physically as well as emotionally. I truly had felt that my "wings" were struggling to fly. I appreciated being given that humble reminder that Heavenly Father knows our needs and that through individuals who are willing to serve, He takes care of us. I made each of my visiting teachers this frame and shared this quote and my gratitude with them. I will never forget the strength they gave me to hold on and to endure this moment of trial. Such dear friends for all they gave, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Friends Are Angels
Friends are angels who lift us on our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.
